Tral, September 20, 2025:
As part of its continuous efforts to strengthen ties with the local community and promote a drug-free society, the 180 Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) organized a Painting Competition, Speech Programme, and Rally under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan in Tral. Nearly 200 students from six schools participated in the event, which was graced by ADC Tral and MLA Tral as chief guests.

The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and teachers alike, with the aim of raising awareness about the ill effects of drug addiction and encouraging the youth to stay away from substance abuse. Winners were felicitated with trophies, T-shirts, and painting materials to recognize their contributions and motivate them further.

On the same day, the closing ceremony of a two-month Sewing Course was also held. Conducted from 21 July to 18 September 2025, the course trained 08 women for 180 hours (60 days) in tailoring skills under the Human Resource Development initiative of the Civic Action Programme, in collaboration with M/S Youth Empowerment Organization, Tral Pulwama. At the conclusion of the training, each participant was provided with a self-operated sewing machine to support their journey toward self-employment and financial independence.

Senior officers of 180 Bn CRPF, local dignitaries, and civil administration members were present on the occasion. Speaking at the event, the Commandant of 180 Bn CRPF emphasized the importance of such initiatives in building mutual trust, preventing drug abuse, and empowering women through skill development.

The locals expressed their appreciation for the CRPF’s efforts, acknowledging the positive impact of such community-oriented programmes in the region.
