SBI PO Prelims Exam 2025 Dates Announced, Check Schedule and Key Details

The State Bank of India (SBI) has officially announced the dates for the SBI Probationary Officer (PO) Preliminary Examination 2025. As per the notification, the SBI PO Prelims will be conducted on August 2, 4, and 5, 2025 across various exam centres in India.

Exam Schedule and Pattern

The preliminary exam is the first phase of the SBI PO selection process. It will be an objective-type test carrying a total of 100 marks, comprising three sections:

  • English Language
  • Quantitative Aptitude
  • Reasoning Ability

Each section will have a separate time limit, and candidates must qualify in each section by securing minimum cut-off marks. However, there will be no sectional cut-off, and a penalty of 0.25 marks will be applied for every incorrect answer.

Admit Card and Results

Candidates who have applied for the SBI PO 2025 recruitment can expect the admit cards to be released in the third or fourth week of July 2025 on the official SBI website sbi.co.in. The results of the preliminary exam are expected in August or September 2025.

Selection Process

The SBI PO recruitment process consists of three phases:

  1. Preliminary Examination
  2. Main Examination
  3. Group Exercise & Interview

Only candidates who qualify in the Preliminary Examination will be called for the Main Examination. Final selection will be based on performance across all three phases.

Vacancy Details

This year, SBI has announced a total of 541 vacancies for the post of Probationary Officer. This includes 500 regular posts and 41 backlog vacancies. The online application process was held from June 24 to July 14, 2025.

Important Instructions for Candidates

  • Make sure to download the admit card as soon as it is available.
  • Carry a valid photo ID proof along with the admit card on the day of the exam.
  • Reach the exam centre well before the reporting time mentioned on the admit card.
