Drug Peddler arrested in Awantipora ; heroin Recovered.
Awantipora 07 July 2025: Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Awantipora Police have arrested one drug peddler and recovered heroin from his possession.
During vehicular checking at naka point Toll Plaza Awantipora , Police party of Police Post Toll Plaza headed by Incharge PP Toll Plaza SI Ishfaq Ahmad apprehended 01 drug peddler identified as Akib Ahmad Wani S/O Maqsood Ahmad Wani R/O Zafron Colony Srinagar.
The arrested person was travelling in a vehicle Toyota Etios bearing registration number JK01AB-2289 which was signalled to stop and during search, officers were able to recover 08 grams of heroin like substance from his possession.
The arrested drug peddler has been shifted to police station where he remain in custody. Vehicle used in the commission of the said crime has also been seized.
Case FIR Number 169 / 2025 under relevant sections of NDPS stands registered at Police Station Awantipora.
