Weather Update for Jammu & Kashmir: August 10, 2025
Srinagar, August 10: The Meteorological Centre, Srinagar, has issued the latest weather forecast and advisory for Jammu & Kashmir, covering the period from August 10 to August 19, 2025.
Weather Forecast
- 10–11 August: The region will experience generally hot and humid weather. Brief showers are possible at a few places, with the likelihood of intense showers in some parts of the Jammu Division.
- 12–15 August: Fresh spells of light to moderate rain and thundershowers are expected at many places. There is a possibility of heavy rain at isolated to scattered locations in the Jammu Division and isolated places in the Kashmir Division, mainly during late night or early morning hours.
- 16–19 August: Generally hot and humid weather is expected, with brief showers possible at a few locations.
Advisory ⚠
- There is a possibility of intense to heavy rainfall at some locations in the Jammu Division during 12–15 August.
- Thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds may occur at a few places.
- Flash floods are possible in vulnerable areas, along with the risk of landslides, mudslides, and shooting stones.
- Farmers are advised to continue agricultural operations until 11 August before the expected rainy spell.
The MET Centre has urged residents and travelers to remain cautious, particularly in areas prone to flash floods and landslides, and to follow advisories issued by local authorities.
