Weather Update J&K: 13 August 2025 – Heavy Rain Alert for Jammu Division, Advisory Issued
The Meteorological Centre Srinagar has issued a detailed weather forecast for Jammu & Kashmir covering the period from 13 to 19 August 2025, warning of heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and potential flash floods in parts of the Jammu division.
Forecast Details
- 13–15 August 2025: Generally cloudy skies with light to moderate rain/thundershowers expected at many places. Heavy to very heavy rain is likely at isolated to scattered places in the Jammu division, particularly in Reasi, Udhampur, Jammu, Samba, Kathua, Doda, and Rajouri, mainly during night and early morning hours. Some areas in the Kashmir division may also witness moderate to brief intense showers accompanied by gusty winds.
- 16 August 2025: Predominantly hot and humid conditions are expected with the possibility of brief showers at a few locations.
- 17–19 August 2025: Light to moderate rain/thunder is likely at several places, with heavy rainfall anticipated in parts of the Jammu division, mainly during late night or early morning hours.

- Heavy to very heavy rainfall is possible in parts of the Jammu division from 13–15 August, especially during night and early morning.
- Thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds may occur at some locations.
- There is a risk of flash floods in vulnerable areas, along with the possibility of landslides, mudslides, and shooting stones.
- People are advised to stay away from water bodies, river embankments, and loose structures during this period.
