KU, ICSC, JKSSB PET/PST, JE Civil, CUS Exams Postponed; All Educational Institutions Across J&K Closed on Aug 28
Srinagar, Aug 27 (KSA): In view of the prevailing inclement weather conditions across Jammu and Kashmir, the government has announced the closure of all universities, colleges, Government College of Engineering & Technology (GCETs), and schools on Thursday, 28th August 2025.
University and College Examinations Postponed
The University of Kashmir (KU) has postponed all examinations scheduled for 28th August 2025, with fresh dates to be announced later, the Assistant Controller of Examinations confirmed. Similarly, the Cluster University Srinagar (CUS) has postponed all exams slated for the same day. The Islamia College of Science and Commerce (ICSC), Srinagar, has also deferred its BG 2nd Semester examinations scheduled for tomorrow.
JKSSB Recruitment Exams Affected
The Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) has issued multiple postponement notices.
1. The PET/PST exam for police recruitment, which was postponed today, will not be held tomorrow. The Controller of Examinations said that fresh dates will be announced by tomorrow evening.
2. The OMR-based examination for the post of Junior Engineer (Civil), earlier scheduled for 31st August 2025, has also been postponed due to bad weather. The exam had already sparked demands for rescheduling as it clashed with th UPSC examinations.
Officials have assured that revised schedules for all postponed examinations will be issued separately in due course. Students are advised to regularly check university and JKSSB notifications for updates.
