JKBOSE Conducts Computer-Based Type Test for Class-IV Employees Promotion
The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) has officially announced the conduct of a Computer-Based Type Test for Class-IV employees seeking promotion to the post of Junior Assistant under the In-Service Quota.
📢 Official Notification Details
As per the notice issued on 20 March 2026, the Board informed that the type test will be conducted for eligible Class-IV employees in accordance with the earlier notification dated 23-10-2025.
According to the document, the examination is scheduled to take place in the month of April 2026.
🖥️ Test Mode & Locations
- The test will be conducted in Computer-Based Mode
- It will be held across both divisions:
- Jammu
- Kashmir
- The exact date, time, and venue will be communicated separately
👥 Eligibility & Participation
- Only eligible Class-IV employees listed by JKBOSE will be allowed to appear
- The list of candidates has been provided in Annexure “A” of the notice (Pages 2 & 3 of the document)
- Candidates must:
- Possess practical typing knowledge
- Submit their consent within 10 days
⚠️ Important: Candidates who fail to submit consent within the given timeframe will not be allowed to appear in the test.
📊 Selection & Promotion Criteria
- Candidates who qualify the type test will be placed in a panel of “eligible candidates”
- Final promotion to Junior Assistant will depend on:
- Availability of vacancies
- Seniority
- Applicable service rules

The official notice includes a detailed list of 67 eligible candidates (Pages 2–3), along with:
- Code numbers
- Names of officials
- Designations (mostly MTS, with some Chowkidars)
