Srinagar, June 13: The Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has announced a series of scheduled power shutdowns across various districts of Kashmir to facilitate maintenance and upgrading works on transmission and distribution infrastructure.

According to the Chief Engineer, Distribution, KPDCL, electricity supply will remain affected in several areas between June 14 and June 17, 2026, during the notified shutdown periods.

Sonamarg, Gund Areas to Face Power Outage on June 15

The shutdown of the 33 KV Kangan–Surfraw Line will be observed on June 15, 2026, resulting in disruption of power supply from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM in:

  • Gund
  • Kulan
  • Gagangeer
  • Sonamarg
  • Fraw
  • Ganiwan
  • Adjoining areas

Zainakote, Narbal and Nearby Areas Affected on June 14

KPDCL said that shutdown of 75 MVA, 132/33 KV Bank-I and 50 MVA, 132/33 KV Bank-II at Grid Substation Zainakote will be carried out on June 14, 2026.

Power supply will remain affected from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM in:

  • Zainakote
  • Bakshipora
  • Shalteng
  • Narbal
  • Snoor Kalipora
  • Railway Station Mazhama
  • Shariefabad
  • Soibugh
  • Wadwan
  • Kawoosa Hospital
  • Noora Hospital

Handwara, Lolab and Machil Valley to Witness Shutdown on June 15

The shutdown of 33 KV Arampora-Handwara Hot & Kupwara Old Line and 33 KV Amargarh-Nowpora Line will be observed on June 15, 2026, causing power interruptions from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM in:

  • Handwara Town
  • Chogal
  • Kulangam
  • Sagipora
  • Marathgam
  • Entire Lolab Valley
  • Machil Valley
  • Nowpora
  • Seelo
  • Achabal
  • Behrampora
  • Bomai

Kupwara Town, Rajwar Areas to Remain Without Power on June 17

KPDCL also announced the shutdown of 33 KV Arampora-Handwara Old & Kupwara Hot Line on June 17, 2026.

Power supply will remain suspended from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM in:

  • Rajwar
  • Hangah
  • Haril
  • Lach
  • Kupwara Town
  • DC Office Kupwara
  • Drugmulla
  • Nagri
  • Batergam
  • Gulgam
  • Adjoining areas

Keran, Dolipora and Vilgam Areas Affected on June 16

The shutdown of 33 KV Keran Tap Line and Dolipora Tap Line will be observed on June 16, 2026, affecting power supply from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM in:

  • Keran
  • Dolipora
  • Magam
  • Vilgam
  • Adjoining areas

Nihalpora-HMT Line Shutdown on June 15

Meanwhile, maintenance work on the 33 KV Nihalpora–HMT Line will lead to power interruptions on June 15, 2026.

Electricity supply will remain affected from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM in:

  • Singhpora
  • Diver
  • Mirgund
  • Duslipora
  • SKUAST
  • Rambilgrah
  • Kalsari
  • Shadipora
  • Odina
  • Maloora Panjinara
  • Ganistan
  • Adjoining areas

KPDCL has advised consumers in the affected areas to make necessary arrangements and cooperate during the maintenance works aimed at improving the reliability and efficiency of the power distribution network.
