Weather Update
10 July:
Possibility of a thundershower/rain spell in some parts of Jammu and Kashmir, especially around hills, during the late afternoon/evening hours.
Chances of a rain spell around Yatra axis (Sonamarg & Pahalgam routes) will also remain there.
11 – 12 July:
A fresh Western Disturbance is expected to impact most parts of Jammu and Kashmir during this period.
Relatively, heavy moisture laden winds from southeast will remain absent during this time.
But moisture laden winds coming from Arabian Sea as normally observed during WDs will remain present (but with weak impact).
As a result, chances of rain showers/spells will remain there during this time. High intensity showers can’t be ruled out.
Chances of cloudbursts will remain lower compared to previous days. However, precautions should still be taken as the atmosphere still has the capacity to hold a lot of moisture during this time.
13 – 15 July:
Nothing major is expected as such. Chances of a experiencing a short duration shower will remain there for some parts.
