Railway Ministry has approved recruitment for 4,098 technical staff posts across zones to take care of manpower shortages faced in the department; the recruitment is also done to improve the safety.
The recruitment drive will fill 35 technical post categories. These positions are directly linked to focus on daily safety checks and upkeep of railway tracks, signals, and other infrastructure.
Vacancies:
- Junior engineers
- Depot material superintendents
- Chemical assistants
- Metallurgical assistants
The Ministry Of Railways has sent a circular to the entire zone General Managers regarding the approval after Human Resource Management System (HRMS) review showed vacancies for staff.
Category of works:
- Permanent Way: 845 vacancies
- Carriage and Wagon departments: 450
- Technical streams: expected to show significant additions.
The Nodal RRBs will issue the Centralised Employment Notification (CEN) from July 21.
As per report, Zonal railways have directed to complete all the formalities and preparation. It includes finalizing the vacancy lists and strictly follows the reservation rules for SC, ST, OBC and EWS categories for the recruitment.
This recruitment comes following previous recruitment drive for 6,565 technicians, including 323 Signal Technician Grade I and 6,242 Technician Grade III posts.
