The registration process for ITBP Medical Officer Recruitment 2026 commenced on August 10, 2026, and eligible candidates can submit their applications until September 8, 2026.
The recruitment drive is being conducted for various medical positions, offering opportunities for candidates seeking appointments as Super Specialist Medical Officers, Specialist Medical Officers and Medical Officers.
A total of 282 vacancies are available under the recruitment drive. These include posts across different medical specialisations and officer-level positions.
According to the vacancy details, 5 posts have been notified for Super Specialist Medical Officers. Candidates meeting the prescribed educational and eligibility requirements can apply for these positions.
For Specialist Medical Officers, the recruitment drive offers 162 posts. Applicants must fulfil the required medical qualification criteria specified in the recruitment notification.

For the post of Super Specialist Medical Officer, candidates must possess a graduate degree in Medicine, such as M.B.B.S., or an equivalent qualification from a recognised university or institution included in the First Schedule to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956.
Candidates applying for Specialist Medical Officer posts must have a recognised medical qualification in the Allopathic system of medicine. The qualification should be included in the First or Second Schedule or Part-II of the Third Schedule, excluding licentiate qualifications, under the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956.
For Medical Officer posts, applicants must also possess a recognised medical qualification in the Allopathic system of medicine. The qualification should fall under the First or Second Schedule or Part-II of the Third Schedule, other than a licentiate qualification, under the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956.
The selection process will begin with scrutiny of the online applications submitted by candidates. Those whose applications are found to be in order will be issued an e-admit card.
The e-admit card will mention the date, time and venue for the Documentation and Interview. The process will be conducted by a designated Board of Officers at the designated centres.
Candidates will subsequently undergo Physical Standard Tests (PST) and Medical Examination Tests (MET). These stages will be used to assess the suitability of candidates for appointment in the Central Armed Police Forces and related services.
The interview will carry a total of 200 marks. It will assess candidates on their general knowledge, academic understanding, personality, intellectual curiosity, balance of judgment, alertness of mind, social cohesion, integrity of character, initiative and leadership capability.
The application fee for male candidates belonging to the General, OBC and EWS categories is ₹400. Candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribes and Ex-Servicemen categories, along with all female candidates, are exempted from paying the application fee.

Eligibility Criteria

Selection Method
Candidates, whose online applications are found in order, will be issued an e-admit card mentioning date, time and venue for ‘Documentation & Interview’ by a designated Board of Officers at the designated centres, followed by Physical Standard Tests (PST) and Medical Examination Tests (MET), to assess their suitability for appointment in CAPFs & AR.
The interview will carry 200 marks and shall be conducted to test the General knowledge and ability of the candidates in the field of their academic study and also to assess the nature of personality, intellectual curiosity, and balance of judgment and alertness of mind, ability for social cohesion, integrity of character, initiative and capability for leadership of the candidates.
Application Fee
The application fee for male candidates belonging to the General (UR), OBC and EWS categories is ₹400/-. Candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste, the Scheduled Tribes, Ex-Servicemen and Female candidates are exempted from the payment of the application fee. The payment should be done through online mode.
