The Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examinations (JKBOPEE) has issued the Provisional Selection List of candidates from the UT of J&K and Ladakh for MBBS/BDS Courses 2026 following the completion of the first round of online counselling.
The list has been notified through Notification No. 163-BOPEE of 2026 dated August 24, 2026. It follows Notification No. 152-BOPEE of 2026 dated August 15, 2026, under which JKBOPEE had announced the schedule for the first round of online counselling.
The provisional allotments have been issued through Annexure-A of the notification. The annexure contains the candidates provisionally allotted seats in Government Colleges and Private Institutions of the UT of J&K and Ladakh.
First Round Counselling Schedule
As per the notification, JKBOPEE had invited candidates to submit their online preferences and choices for the first round of counselling from August 16 to August 18, 2026.
The counselling exercise was conducted for filling seats in MBBS and BDS courses for the 2026 academic session. Following the preference-submission process, JKBOPEE has now published the provisional selection and seat-allotment list.
The detailed provisional selection list is contained in Annexure-A and includes the candidate’s roll number, name, gender, category details, rank, discipline and allotted institution.
The list begins with candidates allotted MBBS seats at institutions including Government Medical College Srinagar, Government Medical College Jammu and SKIMS Medical College Srinagar. The annexure also includes allotments to other Government Medical Colleges and private institutions.
Representation Against Provisional Selection List
Candidates who wish to raise an objection or representation against their position in the provisional selection list have been given an opportunity to do so.
According to JKBOPEE, representations can be submitted up to August 25, 2026, by 5:00 p.m. Candidates making a representation are required to provide documentary evidence in support of their claim.
The representation and supporting documents are to be sent to helpdeskjakbopee@gmail.com. If a genuine representation is received, JKBOPEE will issue a separate notice or notification regarding the revised selection list.
If no further notice or notification is issued, Annexure-A will be treated as final.
Reporting Dates for Provisionally Selected Candidates
Candidates whose seats have been provisionally allotted are required to report to their respective colleges or institutions within the prescribed period.
The reporting process will begin from August 27, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. and continue until August 31, 2026, up to 4:30 p.m.
Candidates are required to carry their relevant certificates and documents in original while reporting to the allotted institution.
Before reporting, provisionally selected candidates have been advised to generate their Provisional Allotment Letter through the JKBOPEE portal using their own login credentials. They must then report to the allotted college or institution to complete the admission formalities by the prescribed deadline.
Documents Required for Admission
JKBOPEE has specified the original documents that provisionally selected candidates need to carry for completing the admission process.
The required documents include:
- Date of Birth Certificate (Matriculation)
- Marks Card of 10+2
- Domicile Certificate
- Valid Category Certificate, wherever applicable, issued before August 10, 2026
- Valid Poor & Backward Category certificate, where applicable, in the prescribed format
- NEET Score Card 2026
- Compulsory Service Bond for candidates belonging to the UT of Ladakh
- Any other document that may be required by the concerned college authorities.
The eligibility requirements for admission will remain as specified in Notification No. 139-BOPEE of 2026 dated August 6, 2026 and the e-Information Brochure available on the JKBOPEE website.
Colleges to Verify Original Documents
JKBOPEE has directed the concerned colleges and institutions to verify the authenticity of the documents submitted by candidates.
Particular attention has been drawn to category certificates, especially where admission is being granted under a reserved category. Such certificates are to be accepted at the time of admission only if they are in the prescribed format specified for the UT and mentioned in the JKBOPEE e-Information Brochure.
The Board has also directed nodal officers of colleges and institutions to verify valid category certificates before allowing candidates to join. Documents uploaded through the JKBOPEE online admission portal and other documents required for admission must also be checked.
Admission Must Be Completed Through JKBOPEE Portal
JKBOPEE has stated that admissions for the course must be completed through its online admission portal.
Admissions made through offline mode will not be accepted. The Board has also advised the heads of concerned colleges and institutions to ensure that all admissions are completed through the JKBOPEE portal within the prescribed timeframe.
To facilitate candidates, the concerned colleges and institutions have been directed to keep their admission counters open even on holidays or off-days so that the admission process can be completed before the cutoff time of August 31, 2026, at 4:30 p.m.
Candidates have also been advised not to wait until the last day to complete their admission formalities.
What Happens If a Candidate Does Not Join?
JKBOPEE has clarified that the provisional allotment will be treated as cancelled if a candidate fails to join the allotted institution within the prescribed period.
A candidate allotted a seat must complete the joining process by August 31, 2026, at 4:30 p.m. Failure to join within the specified timeframe will result in cancellation of the allotted seat and the candidate’s claim to that seat will cease.
After completing the admission process, the institution will issue a joining certificate, while candidates have been advised to verify their joining status through the JKBOPEE portal.
Rules for Admission Cancellation and Round 2
Candidates who receive admission but subsequently wish to cancel it can submit an admission cancellation application on or before the last reporting and joining date, which is August 31, 2026, at 4:30 p.m.
The concerned institution will upload the cancellation application on the admission portal and cancel the admission. Candidates can subsequently check their admission cancellation status through the portal.
JKBOPEE has also specified restrictions concerning the second round of counselling. A candidate allotted a particular institution and discipline in Round 1 who joins, fails to join, or cancels admission after joining will not be eligible to fill or opt for the same institution in the second round. However, the candidate may opt for other institutions.
For ASCOMS, a candidate allotted a particular category in Round 1 and who joins, fails to join, or cancels admission after joining will not be eligible to opt for ASCOMS under the same category in Round 2. The candidate may, however, opt for other ASCOMS category seats if eligible.
Provisional Nature of Admission
The Board has made it clear that admission based on the selection list is purely provisional.
If any information or document furnished by a candidate is found to be false or fabricated, the admission can be cancelled and action may be initiated under the applicable rules.
The seat allotment for reserved-category candidates has been made in accordance with the applicable Reservation Acts, rules and S.O. 176 of 2024 dated March 15, 2024, read with S.O. 305 dated May 21, 2024, as amended from time to time.
