The Jammu & Kashmir State Power Development Corporation Limited (JKSPDCL) has issued an advertisement for the engagement of a Company Secretary on contract basis. The recruitment has been announced through Advertisement Notice No. 01-JK(PDC) of 2026, dated 29-09-2026.
JKSPDCL, a Government of Jammu & Kashmir undertaking involved in the development, generation and management of hydroelectric projects, is seeking applications from eligible and experienced professionals for the Company Secretary position.

The recruitment notice provides for one post of Company Secretary.

The selected candidate will receive a consolidated remuneration of ₹1,00,000 per month, inclusive of all components.

Educational Qualification for Company Secretary Post
Candidates applying for the JKSPDCL Company Secretary position must meet the essential academic and professional eligibility requirements prescribed in the advertisement.
The candidate must possess a graduation degree from a recognized University or Institution.
In addition, the applicant must be an Associate or Fellow Member (ACS/FCS) of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI).
The notice specifically states that the ICSI membership must be valid as on the last date of submission of the application.
Candidates are also required to satisfy the prescribed experience condition for the post.
Required Professional Experience
Applicants must have a minimum of five years of post-qualification experience in Company Secretariat or Corporate Secretarial work.

JKSPDCL Selection Process and Evaluation
The selection process will be carried out through scrutiny of applications, shortlisting and a Personal Interview.
The complete evaluation carries a maximum of 100 marks.
The marks are divided among essential academic qualification, higher/additional professional qualification, relevant post-qualification experience and personal interview.
Essential Academic Qualification – 20 Marks
A maximum of 20 marks will be awarded for the essential academic qualification.
The marks will be calculated on the basis of the percentage of marks obtained in the prescribed essential academic qualification, subject to the maximum of 20 marks.
Higher/Additional Professional Qualification – 20 Marks
The higher or additional professional qualification component carries 20 marks.
The prescribed distribution provides 10 marks for LL.B., 10 marks for CA and 10 marks for CMA, with the maximum overall limit remaining 20 marks.
Relevant Post-Qualification Experience – 40 Marks
Experience carries a total of 40 marks, divided into two components.
The first component, relating to the length of relevant post-qualification experience, carries a maximum of 30 marks.

The second experience component concerns the nature and relevance of experience and carries 10 marks.
Candidates having experience in a Government Company/Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) in Company Secretarial/Corporate Secretarial work can receive up to 10 marks under this component.
Nature and Relevance of Experience
The notice states that the marks under the nature and relevance component will be awarded based on the actual nature and relevance of duties performed by the candidate.
Relevant experience may include work related to:
- Board and Committee matters
- Preparation of Board Agenda, Minutes and Resolutions
- Compliance under the Companies Act, 2013
- MCA/ROC filings and statutory compliances

This component is intended to assess the relevance of the candidate’s professional background to the responsibilities associated with the Company Secretary position.
Personal Interview – 20 Marks
The Personal Interview will carry a maximum of 20 marks.
According to the recruitment notice, the interview will assess the candidate’s knowledge and practical understanding of several areas connected with the post.
These include knowledge of the Companies Act, 2013 and allied corporate laws, practical knowledge of Board and Committee procedures, and knowledge of MCA/ROC filings and statutory compliances.
The interview will also assess understanding of Corporate Governance and Secretarial Standards, experience in preparing Board Agenda, Minutes and Resolutions, drafting and communication skills, and the ability to independently discharge the functions of a Company Secretary.
The candidate’s overall suitability for the contractual assignment will also be considered during the Personal Interview.
The Personal Interview may be conducted through physical mode or Video Conference, as decided by the Corporation.
Shortlisting and Selection
All applications received within the prescribed time will be scrutinized with reference to the eligibility conditions mentioned in the advertisement.
A maximum of five candidates will be shortlisted for the Personal Interview from among the eligible applicants. The shortlisting will be based on merit under the prescribed evaluation criteria relating to essential academic qualification, higher/additional qualification and relevant post-qualification experience.
If the number of eligible applicants is five or less, all eligible applicants may be considered for the interview, subject to fulfillment of the prescribed eligibility conditions.
The notice makes it clear that meeting the minimum eligibility criteria does not automatically confer any right upon a candidate to be shortlisted or called for an interview.
The final selection will be based on the aggregate marks obtained by shortlisted candidates out of 100 marks.
Tie-Breaking and Shortlisting Conditions
In case of a tie in the shortlisting position, preference will first be given to the candidate having higher relevant post-qualification experience.
If the position remains tied, preference may be given to the candidate having a higher/additional professional qualification.
JKSPDCL has also stated that it reserves the right to adopt appropriate shortlisting criteria and/or raise the minimum eligibility standards, if required, depending upon the number and quality of applications received.
The decision of JKSPDCL regarding eligibility, shortlisting, evaluation and final selection will be final and binding.
Contractual Nature of Engagement
The Company Secretary engagement is specifically described as a purely contractual arrangement.
As stated in the recruitment notice, the engagement will not confer any right upon the selected candidate for regular appointment, absorption or continuation in the Corporation.
