The Government of Jammu and Kashmir, Directorate of Colleges, Higher Education Department has issued a fresh admission notification regarding the Phase-II undergraduate admission schedule for the academic session 2026-27.
According to the notification, the admission schedule for Four-Year Undergraduate Programmes (FYUGP) and Five-Year Integrated Postgraduate Programmes (IPG) has been extended for the final time. The revised schedule applies to vacant seats in Government Degree Colleges of Jammu and Kashmir, including Open Merit and Supernumerary Seats.
The decision follows representations received from aspirants seeking additional time for admission to Undergraduate (UG) and Integrated Post-Graduate (IPG) programmes across Government Degree Colleges in J&K.
The notification refers to the decisions taken during the Admission Committee meeting held on September 25, 2026, as well as DC-HE/2026/2752 dated September 17, 2026.
Revised Admission Schedule for 2026-27
Under the final extension, candidates have been given specific deadlines for different stages of the admission process. The Directorate of Colleges has clearly mentioned the dates and closing times for registration, programme selection, counselling, walk-in admissions and completion of admission formalities.
Fresh Registration and Result Update
The process for fresh registration and result updates will remain open from September 26 to September 28, 2026.
Candidates will be able to complete this activity until 10:00 PM on September 28, 2026.
Applicants who need to register afresh or update their results are required to complete the process within the specified deadline.
Fresh Programme Choices for Annexure ‘A’
Candidates covered under Annexure ‘A’ can submit their fresh programme choices from September 26 to September 28, 2026.
The deadline for submitting fresh programme choices is 11:00 PM on September 28, 2026.
Applicants are advised to complete their programme selection within the prescribed time to participate in the subsequent admission process.
In-Person Counselling on September 29
The notification has scheduled in-person counselling for Annexure ‘A’ candidates on September 29, 2026.
The counselling process will begin from 11:00 AM onwards.
Candidates falling under the relevant category are required to take note of the counselling date and reporting schedule as specified in the admission notification.
Walk-In Admissions for Annexure ‘B’
For candidates covered under Annexure ‘B’, the Directorate has announced a walk-in admission window.
The walk-in admission process will remain available from September 26 to September 30, 2026, with the deadline fixed at 4:00 PM on September 30, 2026.
Eligible candidates seeking admission through the walk-in process should complete the required procedure within the notified timeframe.
Admission Formalities to Be Completed by September 30
The Directorate of Colleges has also specified a deadline for completing admission formalities.
All required admission formalities must be completed by 5:00 PM on September 30, 2026.
Candidates are therefore required to ensure that their admission-related procedures are completed before the stated deadline.
Admissions to Close on September 30
The notification makes it clear that the FYUGP and Five-Year Integrated Postgraduate Programme admissions for the academic session 2026-27 will close on September 30, 2026.
The Directorate has specifically stated that no further extension shall be granted after the notified closing date.
This makes September 30 the final date for the closure of the admission process under the extended Phase-II schedule.
Candidates Already Admitted Cannot Participate
The Directorate has also clarified an important eligibility condition for this round.
Candidates who are already admitted in a college shall not be eligible to participate in this round of the admission process.
Applicants should therefore take their existing admission status into account before attempting to participate in the extended admission schedule.
Previous Admission Terms to Remain Unchanged
Apart from the revised dates and schedule, all other terms and conditions mentioned in the earlier admission notifications will continue to remain applicable.
The notification specifically refers to Admission Notification No. DC-HE/2026/2590 dated August 29, 2026, and DC-HE/2026/2752 dated September 17, 2026.
All other provisions and conditions contained in these notifications will remain unchanged.

The Directorate of Colleges has advised candidates to regularly check the Centralised Admission Portal and the official WhatsApp Channel for Admissions 2026-27 for updates and further information.
