The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has revised the academic calendar for the 2026-27 session for technical institutions, including institutions offering Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) and Post Graduate Certificate in Management (PGCM) programmes.
The revised calendar was issued through a circular dated August 13, 2026, following the Supreme Court’s order in MA 2380/2026 dated August 12. The updated schedule by the national statutory body and regulator for technical education in India sets out admission timelines, including the deadline for filling vacant seats.

SEPTEMBER 14 DEADLINE FOR VACANT SEATS, LATERAL ENTRY
Under the revised schedule, AICTE-approved technical institutions can admit eligible candidates against notified vacant seats until September 14, 2026.
The same deadline applies to lateral entry admission directly into the second year of eligible programmes. The extension may benefit students who did not secure seats in earlier counselling rounds or are still exploring available seats at AICTE-approved institutions.
Students seeking admission should check the vacancy position and admission process with the concerned institution and comply with any additional requirements prescribed by the institute.
