Srinagar, June 20: The Directorate of Colleges, Higher Education Department, Jammu and Kashmir, has announced an extension of the UG Admissions 2026-27 document verification deadline till June 23, 2026, while restricting regular activities in colleges designated as NEET-UG 2026 Re-Examination Centres on June 20.
The decision has been taken in view of the NEET-UG 2026 Re-Examination, scheduled to be conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on June 21, 2026. The District Administration and NTA will conduct mock drills and inspections in the designated colleges on June 20 to ensure smooth and secure conduct of the examination.
UG Admission Verification Deadline Extended
The Directorate has clarified that document verification for UG Admissions 2026-27 will not be conducted on June 20 in the designated colleges. Consequently, the deadline for document verification has been extended up to June 23, 2026, to ensure that students do not face any inconvenience due to NEET-related arrangements.
Students awaiting verification have been advised to complete the process within the revised timeline.
Activities Permitted on June 20
Only the following activities will be allowed in the designated colleges:
- IGNOU examinations in morning and evening shifts.
- End-semester undergraduate examinations of affiliating universities.
- J&K BOPEE examinations and counselling, if already notified.
- Any other examination notified by the competent authority.
- NEET-UG preparatory work, mock drills and inspections by the NTA and District Administration.
The Directorate has stated that no other academic or administrative activities shall be carried out in these institutions on June 20.
Students Advised Not to Visit Colleges
Students who are not appearing in any of the permitted examinations have been advised not to visit the designated colleges on June 20, as the campuses will remain engaged in examination-related preparations and security arrangements.
Colleges Designated as NEET-UG Re-Examination Centres
The notification covers colleges across Srinagar, Budgam, Baramulla, Kupwara, Pulwama, Anantnag, Kulgam and Jammu districts, including Sri Pratap College, Amar Singh College, Islamia College of Science & Commerce, GDC Anantnag, GDC Pulwama, GDC Baramulla, GDC Kupwara, GGM Science College Jammu and several other institutions.

The notification was issued by Dr. Sheikh Ajaz Bashir, Director Colleges, J&K, under Notification No. DC-HE/2026/1806 dated June 19, 2026.
