The ESIC Medical College and Hospital, Ludhiana, Punjab, has released a notification inviting eligible candidates to participate in a walk-in interview for the recruitment of Teaching Faculty and Senior Residents on a contractual basis. The walk-in interview is scheduled to be conducted on August 12, 2026, at the Dean’s Office of the institute.
According to the official notification, the recruitment drive aims to fill Teaching Faculty positions on a contract initially valid for one year, with the possibility of extension up to three years based on satisfactory performance. Senior Residents will be appointed for three years under the residency scheme and one year against GDMO vacancies, depending on the post. Retired or working Professors are also eligible to apply for suitable vacancies.
Walk-in Interview Schedule
The interview will be held on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, in offline mode at the 2nd Floor, Dean Office, ESIC Medical College and Hospital, Ludhiana-141001, Punjab.
Candidates are required to report between 9:00 AM and 10:00 AM. Before attending the interview, applicants must submit the duly filled application form along with scanned copies of all required supporting documents, applicable demand draft, research publications, and proof of indexing agency via email to dean-ludhiana.pb@esic.gov.in by August 8, 2026. The subject line of the email should clearly mention the candidate’s name, the post applied for, and the department.
Eligibility Criteria
The notification specifies that the maximum age limit for Teaching Faculty is 69 years, while the upper age limit for Senior Residents is 45 years as on the date of the interview. Age relaxation will be applicable according to the prevailing Government of India norms.
Educational qualifications and experience must meet the latest National Medical Commission (NMC) norms for the advertised posts. The notification also outlines specific eligibility conditions for Tutors, Senior Residents in super-specialty departments, Emergency Medicine posts, and cases where suitable MD/MS candidates are unavailable. The required qualifications and experience must be possessed by the last date of application submission.

The notification states that these vacancies are provisional and may increase or decrease depending on institutional requirements. Reservation will be implemented as per Government of India guidelines.
Salary Structure
Selected candidates will receive remuneration according to the notified pay levels.
Professors will receive a fixed basic pay of ₹1,23,100 (Level 13) along with admissible allowances, with an approximate gross salary of ₹2.5 lakh.
Associate Professors will receive ₹78,800 (Level 12) with allowances, resulting in an approximate gross salary of ₹1.7 lakh.
Assistant Professors and Senior Residents will receive a fixed basic pay of ₹67,700 (Level 11) along with admissible allowances, with an approximate gross salary of ₹1.45 lakh.
Tutors will receive ₹56,100 (Level 10) with applicable allowances, resulting in an approximate gross salary of ₹1.2 lakh. The notification also mentions prescribed deductions for Senior Residents who possess only diploma qualifications or do not possess the required degree or diploma.
Contract Conditions
The notification states that Teaching Faculty appointments will initially remain valid for one year and may be extended annually up to three years, subject to satisfactory performance, attainment of 70 years of age, or until a regular incumbent joins, whichever occurs earlier.
Either side may terminate the contractual engagement by providing one month’s notice. Selected candidates are also required to deposit a security amount at the time of joining. Faculty members will be entitled to 2.5 days of leave per month, while contractual appointments will not carry benefits such as provident fund, pension, gratuity, medical allowance, seniority, or promotion.
Application Fee
No application fee is payable by SC, ST, ESIC regular employees, female candidates, defence ex-servicemen, and persons with disabilities.
Candidates belonging to all other categories are required to pay ₹500 through a demand draft in favour of ESI Fund A/c No. 1, payable at Ludhiana.
Documents Required
Applicants must carry original documents and submit self-attested copies of the prescribed certificates, including proof of date of birth, MBBS and postgraduate qualification certificates, updated medical registration certificate, research publications, experience certificates, Aadhaar Card, passport-size photograph, applicable NOC, and category certificates wherever required. Relevant biomedical research and medical education certificates must also be produced if applicable.
Selection Process
The selection process will be based on the candidates’ academic credentials and their performance before the Selection Board during the interview.
According to the notification, the recruitment result will be published in the Recruitment section of the ESIC Medical College Ludhiana website. Appointment offers will be communicated through email, and selected candidates will be required to join as per the instructions mentioned in the offer letter. The notification further states that incomplete applications or applications submitted in formats other than the prescribed form will be rejected. No TA or DA will be provided for attending the interview.
