GATE 2026 Registration Postponed, New Dates Released by IIT Guwahati
The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati has officially postponed the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2026 registration process. The registration, which was earlier scheduled to begin on August 25, 2025, will now start on August 28, 2025. Candidates will be able to complete the application process through the official website – gate2026.iitg.ac.in.
Revised GATE 2026 Schedule
- Registration begins: August 28, 2025
- Last date without late fee: September 28, 2025
- Last date with late fee: October 9, 2025
GATE 2026 Exam Dates
The GATE 2026 examination will be held in four sessions across two weekends in February 2026. The confirmed dates are:
- February 7, 2026
- February 8, 2026
- February 14, 2026
- February 15, 2026
Result Date
The GATE 2026 results will be declared on March 19, 2026.
About GATE 2026
GATE is a national-level entrance exam conducted for admission to postgraduate programs in engineering, technology, and architecture, as well as for recruitment in various public sector undertakings (PSUs). The exam is jointly conducted by seven IITs and IISc Bangalore on a rotational basis, and for 2026, IIT Guwahati is the organizing institute.
