IIM CAT 2025 Notification Released: Check Registration Dates, Exam Schedule & Key Details

The Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) have officially released the notification for the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2025. This year, IIM Kozhikode is the organising institute for the prestigious MBA entrance exam that serves as a gateway for admission into top B-Schools across India.

CAT 2025 Registration Dates

As per the notification, the CAT 2025 registration process will begin on August 1, 2025, at 10 AM. Eligible candidates can submit their applications online through the official website — iimcat.ac.in — until September 13, 2025, 5 PM.

Exam Date and Admit Card

The CAT 2025 exam will be held on November 30, 2025 (Sunday) in a computer-based test format across three sessions. The admit cards will be available for download from November 5, 2025 onwards. The result is expected to be declared in the first week of January 2026.

Application Fees

  • SC/ST/PwD candidates: ₹1,300
  • All other categories: ₹2,600

This year, the fees have been slightly revised compared to last year.

Test Cities

The exam will be conducted in approximately 170 cities across India. Candidates can select up to five preferred cities while filling out the application form.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/PwD categories). Final-year students can also apply, provided they complete their degree requirements by the stipulated date.

How to Apply for CAT 2025

  1. Visit the official website iimcat.ac.in
  2. Register with a valid email ID and mobile number
  3. Fill in personal and academic details
  4. Upload scanned copies of photograph, signature, and category certificates (if applicable)
  5. Pay the application fee online
  6. Submit the form and save a copy for future reference

Selection Process

Clearing CAT is just the first step. Candidates shortlisted based on their CAT scores will have to go through further rounds such as Group Discussions (GD), Written Ability Test (WAT), and Personal Interview (PI). Each IIM or participating institute may have its own selection criteria and weightage.

Why CAT Matters

Every year, over two lakh aspirants take the CAT exam to secure admission in 21 IIMs and several other top management institutes across India. The test evaluates candidates’ aptitude in Quantitative Ability, Verbal Ability, Reading Comprehension, Data Interpretation, and Logical Reasoning.
