The Islamic University of Science & Technology (IUST), Kashmir has issued an advertisement inviting online applications from eligible and motivated candidates for the position of Project Assistant (PA) under a JKST&IC-funded research project.
The recruitment is for the research project titled “Microplastic Contamination in the Packaged Food Products of Kashmir: Quantitative Assessment, Migration Dynamics and Simulation Studies.” According to the advertisement, the engagement is purely temporary and will remain co-terminus with the project.
Vacancy Details
The university has announced one (01) vacancy for the post of Project Assistant (PA).
Selected candidates will receive a monthly emolument of ₹20,000, along with House Rent Allowance (HRA) as admissible.
Educational Qualification
As per the official notification, candidates must possess the following qualifications:
Essential Qualification:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Science/Food Technology.
Desirable Qualification:
- Master’s Degree in Food Technology/Food Science & Technology/Food Science.
- Experience in food analysis, analytical instrumentation, microplastic analysis, or laboratory research will be preferred.
Duration of Engagement
The appointment will initially be for six months.
The notification states that the tenure may be extended based on satisfactory performance, project requirements, and the availability of funds.

Terms and Conditions
The advertisement specifies several conditions governing the engagement:
- The appointment is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project and will not confer any right to claim regular appointment in the university.
- The university reserves the right to terminate the engagement of a candidate at any stage without assigning any reason.
- Shortlisted candidates must produce original certificates along with one set of self-attested photocopies and relevant testimonials at the time of the interview.
- No TA/DA will be paid for appearing in the interview.
- The university reserves the right not to fill the advertised position or to modify or cancel the advertisement without assigning any reason.
- If a selected candidate wishes to resign before completion of the engagement, a one-month notice or one month’s emoluments in lieu thereof shall be required.
- The appointment will be governed by the rules, regulations, and guidelines of the university and the funding agency, as amended from time to time.
