Jammu & Kashmir Weather Forecast: 4th – 12th July 2025

The Meteorological Centre Srinagar has issued a detailed weather forecast and advisory for Jammu & Kashmir covering the period from 4th to 12th July 2025. Citizens are advised to stay alert, especially during the 6th to 8th of July, as moderate to heavy rainfall is expected in several regions which may lead to flash floods and landslides.

🔶 Weather Forecast Highlights

📅 4th July 2025:

• Hot and humid conditions are expected to prevail.
• There is a possibility of a brief spell of rain or thundershower at scattered locations.

📅 5th July 2025:

• Daytime weather will remain hot and humid.
• Spell of light to moderate rain or thunderstorm likely during late night or early morning hours.

📅 6th – 8th July 2025:

• Generally cloudy skies.
• Intermittent light to moderate rain/thundershower likely at many places.
• Intense showers and heavy rainfall may occur at isolated places, especially in Jammu Division.

📅 9th – 10th July 2025:

• Light to moderate rain/thundershower expected at scattered to many locations.

📅 11th – 12th July 2025:

• Weather will remain hot and humid.
• Scattered brief showers may occur in a few areas.

⚠ Advisory Issued

The MET Department has issued a weather-related advisory to the public and administration:

• Flash Flood Alert: Vulnerable areas may experience flash floods between 6th to 8th July.
• Landslide/Mudslide Risk: There is a possibility of landslides, mudslides, and shooting stones along hilly terrain and vulnerable road stretches.
• Rising Water Levels: Water levels in rivers, streams, and local nalas may rise significantly, leading to waterlogging in some low-lying areas.
• Agriculture Advisory: Farmers are strongly advised to suspend irrigation and avoid any agricultural operations during 6th to 8th July to prevent loss and damage.

The Meteorological Department urges residents, especially those living in flood-prone and hilly regions, to stay updated through official weather bulletins and take necessary precautions.
