KashmirKashmir WeatherJ&K Weather Forecast: September 7 to 19

The Meteorological Centre Srinagar has issued a weather forecast for Jammu and Kashmir covering the period from September 7 to September 19. According to the forecast, weather conditions are expected to remain generally dry across the region for most of the period, although brief spells of rain or thundershowers may occur at isolated or scattered places.

The forecast outlines different weather patterns for three separate periods, with the possibility of precipitation varying depending on the date and time of the day.

September 7 to 12: Generally Dry Weather

From September 7 to September 12, Jammu and Kashmir is expected to experience generally dry weather conditions.

However, the MET Centre Srinagar has indicated the possibility of a brief spell of rain or thundershower at isolated places during this period. This means that while dry weather is expected to dominate, localized rainfall activity cannot be ruled out in some areas.

The forecast does not indicate widespread rainfall during these dates, with precipitation expected only in isolated locations.

September 13 to 15: Scattered Rain and Thundershowers

A change in the weather pattern is expected between September 13 and September 15. During these three days, brief spells of rain or thundershower are likely at scattered places.

According to the MET Centre Srinagar, such weather activity may occur particularly during the early morning and afternoon hours.

The forecast therefore points to a possibility of localized precipitation across scattered areas during specific parts of the day, while the weather pattern is not described as continuously wet throughout this period.

Residents and those engaged in outdoor activities may therefore experience brief changes in weather during the early morning or afternoon hours between September 13 and September 15.

September 16 to 19: Dry Conditions to Continue

From September 16 to September 19, the weather is again expected to remain generally dry across Jammu and Kashmir.

The MET Centre Srinagar, however, has forecast the possibility of brief spells of rain or thundershower at isolated places during this period.

As with the September 7-12 forecast, the expected precipitation is limited to isolated locations, while the overall weather outlook remains generally dry.

The forecast therefore indicates that dry conditions are likely to remain the dominant weather pattern through September 19, with occasional localized rain or thundershower activity possible.

Weather Outlook for Jammu and Kashmir

The overall forecast issued by the MET Centre Srinagar indicates a predominantly dry weather pattern for Jammu and Kashmir from September 7 through September 19, interrupted by brief spells of precipitation in some areas.

The first period, from September 7 to 12, is expected to see generally dry weather with isolated rain or thundershowers. The following period, September 13 to 15, could bring brief spells of rain or thundershowers at scattered places, particularly during the early morning and afternoon hours.

The final period, from September 16 to 19, is again expected to remain generally dry, although isolated rain or thundershower activity may occur.

Advisory for Farmers

Alongside the weather forecast, the MET Centre Srinagar has issued an advisory for farmers in Jammu and Kashmir.

According to the advisory, farmers may continue harvesting of Apple and Paddy, along with other farm operations.

The advisory specifically permits the continuation of these agricultural activities during the forecast period. Farmers may therefore continue with apple and paddy harvesting as well as other ongoing farm operations, in line with the weather outlook issued by the meteorological centre.

The weather outlook for the coming days can be summarized as follows:

  • September 7-12: Generally dry, with a brief spell of rain or thundershower possible at isolated places.
