JKBOSE Issues Final Reminder for NMMS Scholarship Category Certificate Submission
The Jammu & Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) has issued an important circular for students who appeared in the National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship Scheme (NMMSS) Examination for the academic session 2024–25.
As per the circular, the results of the NMMS Examination conducted on June 29, 2025, are currently being compiled. The Board emphasized that the allocation of scholarship quotas is governed by the reservation policies of the Union Territory, ensuring fair distribution of scholarships among various categories such as IB/ALC/RBA, OBC, and ST (ST-1 and ST-2).
Final Opportunity for Submission
Students belonging to any reserved category who have not yet submitted their category certificates have now been given a final opportunity to do so. They must submit valid certificates to the concerned Chief Education Officer (DNOs NMMS) within five days, starting from July 25, 2025. Failure to submit the required documents within this period will result in their reservation claims being rejected.
The circular also highlights that students claiming ST reservation must clearly specify whether they belong to the ST-I or ST-II sub-category and provide valid documentary proof to support their claim.
Important for Quota Allotment
This urgent step is necessary to enable JKBOSE to systematically allot scholarships as per the reservation quotas, ensuring optimal utilization of the allocated slots.
Key Dates:
- Last date to submit certificates: July 30, 2025
- Documents to be submitted: Valid category certificate and proof of reservation
Students and parents are advised to take immediate action to avoid disqualification from the reserved quota benefits under the NMMS Scholarship Scheme.
For any further information, students may contact their respective Chief Education Officers or visit the official JKBOSE website.
