The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) has issued an important notification regarding the re-opening of the online registration return submission link for Class 9 students of the Academic Session 2025–26. This decision has been taken to facilitate affiliated institutions and schools that could not submit the registration returns of eligible students within the previously notified deadlines.

The notification is particularly relevant for schools under the Kashmir Division, including District Kargil of the Union Territory of Ladakh, where several institutions reportedly failed to complete the registration process despite multiple extensions granted by the Board.

JKBOSE Reopens Registration Link

According to the notification issued by the Registration Section, JKBOSE has once again opened the online portal for submission of registration returns for students who were enrolled in Class 9 during the Academic Session 2025–26 and are presently studying in Class 10 in JKBOSE-affiliated institutions.

The Board has clarified that the online registration return submission facility will remain available up to June 8, 2026.

This move aims to ensure that no eligible student is deprived of registration due to delays or omissions at the institutional level.

Background of the Notification

JKBOSE had earlier issued several notifications and extensions regarding the submission of registration returns. These include:

  2. Notification dated November 10, 2025
  3. Extension Notification dated January 1, 2026
  4. Extension Notification dated April 3, 2026

Despite these opportunities, some affiliated academic institutions and schools failed to submit the registration returns of their students. Consequently, JKBOSE has decided to provide one final opportunity for institutions to complete the process.

Importance of Registration Returns

Registration is one of the most crucial academic procedures for students enrolled under JKBOSE. The registration return serves as an official record of a student’s enrollment and academic details.

Failure to submit registration returns may lead to:

  • Issues in future examination registration.
  • Delays in issuance of certificates.
  • Problems in maintaining academic records.
  • Difficulties during Class 10 board examination processes.

Therefore, institutions are advised to complete the process without delay.

Official Website for Submission

Schools can access the registration portal through the official JKBOSE website:

https://jkbose.jk.gov.in

The online link for submission of registration returns is available through the Board’s official portal.

JKBOSE’s Appeal to Institutions

The Board has urged all Government and Private affiliated High and Higher Secondary Schools to ensure timely submission of registration returns for all eligible candidates. School authorities are advised to verify student data carefully and complete the process before the deadline.

This reopening of the portal is being viewed as a relief measure for institutions that missed previous deadlines and for students whose registration status remained pending.

The latest JKBOSE notification provides a final opportunity for affiliated institutions to submit pending registration returns of Class 9 students from the Academic Session 2025–26. Schools under the Kashmir Division, including District Kargil, must complete the process by June 8, 2026, along with payment of the prescribed fee and token fine.

Students and parents are encouraged to stay in touch with their respective schools to ensure that registration formalities are completed successfully. Timely registration is essential for maintaining academic records and ensuring smooth progression to future examinations.
