Vacancy Details
According to the notification, the JKSSB has received indents from the Health and Medical Education Department under four references for a total of 621 posts. The details of the indents are as follows:
- HD-FW/16/2023-02 dated 29.07.2024 (CC No. 7150985)
- HD-FW/51/2024-02 dated 14.01.2025 and 18.04.2025
- HD-NG-J/70/2023-02 dated 13.08.2024 followed by HD-NG-J/70/2023-02 dated 14.01.2025 and 18.04.2025
- HME-SKIM/18/2024-02 dated 22.07.2024 and HME-SKIM/418/2024-02 dated 22.03.2025

Appointment and Service Conditions
The appointment and other service conditions for candidates selected through this recruitment drive will be governed as per the extant rules and regulations of the Government of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir.
Domicile Requirement
Only candidates who are domiciled in the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir are eligible to apply. Applicants must possess a valid Domicile Certificate issued by the competent authority. This certificate must be issued in the prescribed format on or before the last date of submission of the online application forms, which is 03.09.2025, unless otherwise extended. Failure to submit a valid domicile certificate within the stipulated time frame will lead to disqualification.
Age Limit
The maximum age limit for applying varies according to the candidate’s category as of 01.01.2025:
- Open Merit (OM): 40 years (Not born before 01.01.1985 and not born after 01.01.2007)

Educational Qualification
The educational qualification required for each post is specified in Annexure-A. Candidates must ensure they possess the prescribed qualifications on or before the cut-off date fixed for filling the online application forms. During document verification, shortlisted candidates will be required to produce original certificates. Failure to produce the relevant certificates will result in cancellation of candidature.
Candidates must also note:
- Admission to the examination will remain provisional until the genuineness of documents is verified by the appointing authority.
- If a candidate claims an equivalent qualification, it must be supported by an equivalence certificate issued by the competent authority.
Application of Reservation
The reservation policy for reserved categories and horizontal reservation will be applicable as per the rules of the Government of Jammu & Kashmir. Candidates seeking reservation must possess a valid Category Certificate issued by the competent authority strictly as on the cut-off date. Any false claim will lead to debarment from the examination(s) conducted by the Board and may also attract penal action.
Horizontal Reservation
Horizontal reservation for Ex-Servicemen and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBDs) will be applicable as per rules and to the extent communicated by the indenting department(s). Ex-Servicemen candidates will be required to submit an affidavit duly sworn before a 1st Class Judicial Magistrate if they wish to apply under this category.
Application Fee
The application fee payable is as follows:
- Rs. 600/- for General Category candidates.
- Rs. 500/- for candidates belonging to SC, ST, EWS, and PwBD categories.
The fee must be paid online through Net Banking, Credit Card, or Debit Card. Applications received without the prescribed fee will be summarily rejected. Once paid, the fee is non-refundable under any circumstances.
Scheme of Examination
- The written examination will consist of Objective Type, Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).
- The questions will be set in English Language only.
- There will be Negative Marking for wrong answers. One-fourth (¼) of the marks assigned to the question will be deducted for each wrong answer.
