JKSSB Provisional Selection List Released for Junior Engineer (Civil) Posts – Check Category-Wise Breakup & Court Directions
The Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) has released the Provisional Selection List for the post of Junior Engineer (Civil) for the Divisional Cadre Kashmir under two items – Item No. 01 and 28. These posts were advertised under Notification No. 04 of 2017 dated 28.11.2017 by the Department of Disaster Management, Relief, Rehabilitation & Reconstruction (DMRRR), Public Works (R&B) Department, and PHE/I&FC Department under the Prime Minister’s Package.

🔹 Post Details:
- Name of Post: Junior Engineer (Civil)
- Cadre: Divisional, Kashmir
- Qualification Required: B.E/B.Tech in Civil Engineering OR 3-Year Diploma in Civil Engineering OR AMIE Section (A&B) India in Civil.
🔹 Selection Background:
- The JKSSB conducted the Computer Based Written Test (CBT) in April 2018.
- The provisional list has been framed based on merit and recommendations of JKSSB.
- Appointments were earlier made in the R&B Department, and remaining candidates are now being considered for the PHE/I&FC Department.
🔹 Court Directions:
Following writ petitions (O.A. No. 12/2020 and TA 437/2020, TA 1107/2020) and directions from the Hon’ble Tribunal, JKSSB has been instructed to reframe the selection list, particularly addressing the OM category candidates for the PHE/I&FC department.
The operative part of the Tribunal order stated:
“The respondents no. 4 and 5 are directed to reframe the select lists for the post of Junior Engineer (Civil) in PHE Department under OM category considering the candidature of the applicants and recommend the names of the applicants to the Government PHE/I&FC department J&K.”
The reframing of lists and forwarding to the Government must be completed within 6 weeks of the order, dated 11.09.2024.
