Selection Process

Selection will be conducted in three stages:

1. Written Examination

Candidates will first appear in an objective-type written examination.

  • Negative marking of one-fourth for every incorrect answer

2. Physical Standard Test (PST)

Candidates shortlisted from the written examination (up to six times the number of vacancies in each category) will undergo PST.

Female Candidates

  • Physically fit

The PST is qualifying in nature.


3. Physical Endurance Test (PET)

  • 20 Push-ups

Female Candidates:

  • 1000-meter race in 6½ minutes
  • Shot Put (4 Kg): 14½ feet in three attempts

No marks will be awarded for PET as it is qualifying only. Relaxed standards are available for eligible Ex-Servicemen.


Medical Examination

Candidates qualifying all stages will undergo a medical examination to determine physical and medical fitness before appointment.

JKSSB will release admit cards approximately one week before the examination on its official website.
