NTA recruitment 2026: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released a major recruitment drive as part of administrative reforms for 4 General Managers, 16 Young Professionals.

This marks the beginning of the administrative reforms following the NEET paper leak and irregularities. It comes following removal of 47 officials for agency.

NTA aims to appoint senior professionals and Young Professionals to strengthen transparency, accountability and institutional capacity.

Advertisements have been issued under the Ministry of Education for four General Managers for key functional areas and first time ever recruiting 16 Young Professionals through the UPSC’s Pratibha Setu portal.

Vacancies:

  • General Manager (Assessment Research & Development and Psychometrics): 1
  • General Manager (Test Center Network Operations): 1
  • General Manager (Information Security): 1
  • General Manager (Vigilance, Investigation and Forensics): 1
  • Young Professionals – Academic Research: 12
  • Young Professionals – Legal Research: 2
  • Young Professionals – Finance and Accounts: 2
  • Total: 20

The duty of General Manager would be as follows:

  • General Manager (Assessment Research & Development and Psychometrics): Question bank development, exam normalisation, equating, calibration, CAT and AI-based evaluation.
  • General Manager (Test Center Network Operations): Management of test centres, capacity planning, exam-day operations and coordination with state and district authorities.
  • General Manager (Information Security): Cybersecurity, data protection compliance, CERT-In guideline and 24×7 Security Operations Center.
  • General Manager (Vigilance, Investigation and Forensics): Investigation of examination irregularities, digital forensics and coordination with CBI, IB, ED and state agencies.

Responsibilities for young professionals:

  • Young Professionals – Academic Research: Academic research and examination-related support
  • Young Professionals – Legal Research: Legal research and policy support
  • Young Professionals – Finance and Accounts: Finance and accounts functions

This recruitment drive comes a day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke about NEET paper leak on his Instagram post. He assured that strict measures will be brought to curb examination paper leak that includes fast-track courts, harsher punishment for those who found guilty in this crime.

NTA added that recruitment will continue in the same way for the 10 functional verticals recommended by the expert panel of government and external domain experts. A new expert panel of subject matter experts and translators will be formed in the next few weeks.
