Schools Closed in Poonch’s Kalaban Area Amid Land Sinking, Weather Threat
Poonch, Sep 9: Authorities in Poonch district on Tuesday ordered the closure of several schools in Kalaban area following inclement weather and reports of land sinking that have posed a serious threat to local residents.
As per an order issued by the Chief Education Officer (CEO) Poonch, as per news agency Kashmir News Corner — KNC, the alarming situation has raised concerns for the lives and safety of the local population, particularly school-going children.
The schools ordered to remain shut till further notice include PS Takia, GMS Kalaban, PS Mohalla Kashmiri, and PS Khaitan (Zone Mendhar).
The measure has been taken as a precautionary step to safeguard students and residents while the situation in the affected area continues to be monitored. (KNC)
