The Government of Jammu & Kashmir, through the Office of the Child Development Project Officers (CDPOs), has invited applications for the engagement of Sanginis (Anganwadi Workers) and Sahayikas (Anganwadi Helpers) in various Anganwadi Centres under POSHAN Projects Srinagar, Khanyar, and Batwara. The recruitment is being conducted under the provisions of Government Order No. 222-JK (SWD) of 2022 and Government Order No. 103-JK (SWD) of 2023.

This recruitment drive offers an excellent opportunity for eligible women residing in the concerned electoral wards to serve their local communities while contributing to child nutrition, maternal health, and early childhood education through the Anganwadi system.


Overview

The recruitment covers three POSHAN Projects:

  • POSHAN Project Srinagar
  • POSHAN Project Khanyar
  • POSHAN Project Batwara

Appointments will be made purely on an honorarium basis according to the approved recruitment policy.

Khanyar Project

Applications are to be submitted within 15 days from publication of the advertisement.


Who Can Apply?

Only eligible women candidates fulfilling all prescribed conditions may apply.

Applicants must:

  • Be domiciles of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir.
  • Belong to the concerned electoral ward where the Anganwadi Centre is located.
  • Fulfil the educational qualification prescribed for the post.
  • Meet the age criteria.
  • Submit all required certificates before the closing date.

Age Limit

Candidates should be:

  • Minimum: 18 years
  • Maximum: 37 years

The age shall be calculated as specified in the respective advertisement notices.


Educational Qualification

Anganwadi Worker (Sangini)

Minimum Qualification:

  • 10+2 Pass

Maximum Qualification:

  • Graduation

Candidates possessing qualifications higher than graduation are not eligible.


Anganwadi Helper (Sahayika)

Minimum Qualification:

  • Matriculation

If matriculates are unavailable, candidates with qualification not below 8th Standard may be considered.


Selection Process

Selection will be based on:

  • Merit obtained in qualifying examination.
  • Ward residency.
  • Verification of documents.
  • Eligibility conditions prescribed under Mission POSHAN.

Higher age will be preferred in case of a tie in merit.


Preference Criteria

Additional weightage is available for:

  • Eligible candidates belonging to the family of retiring Anganwadi Workers/Helpers.

Such candidates receive additional merit weightage as provided in the recruitment policy.
