EducationUGC NET June 2026 Answer Key Expected Soon; Here's How to Download Response Sheet, Challenge Answers and Calculate Scores

The National Testing Agency (NTA) is expected to publish the provisional answer key for the University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) June 2026 shortly on its official website. While candidates continue to wait for the release, the agency has not yet announced an official date for making the provisional answer key available.

The June 2026 examination concluded more than 20 days ago, and candidates are now looking forward to accessing the official answer key to estimate their scores before the declaration of results. The provisional answer key will also be accompanied by the recorded response sheets and question papers of candidates.

UGC NET June 2026 Exam Schedule

The National Testing Agency conducted the UGC NET June 2026 examination on the following dates:

  • June 22, 2026
  • June 23, 2026
  • June 24, 2026
  • June 25, 2026
  • June 29, 2026
  • June 30, 2026
  • July 5, 2026

The examination was held at various centres across the country. Following the release of the provisional answer key, candidates will be able to compare their responses with the official answers provided by the NTA.

Response Sheet and Question Paper to Be Released Together

Along with the provisional answer key, the NTA is expected to upload the question papers and the recorded responses submitted by candidates during the examination.

Candidates are advised to download and save their response sheets once they become available. According to the official information, these documents are generally displayed online for only two to three days.

Keeping a copy of the response sheet may be useful for future reference and for verifying the final result after it is declared.

Opportunity to Challenge the Provisional Answer Key

After releasing the provisional answer key, the NTA will provide candidates with an opportunity to challenge any answer they believe is incorrect.

Candidates wishing to raise objections must submit valid supporting documents or justification while filing the challenge. A non-refundable processing fee of Rs 200 per question challenged will be applicable.

The objections submitted during the specified period will be examined by a panel of subject experts. Based on their review, the agency will prepare and publish the final answer key, which will be used for evaluation and preparation of the results.

Official Marking Scheme

Candidates can estimate their probable scores using the official UGC NET marking scheme after comparing their responses with the provisional answer key.

The marking scheme is as follows:

  • Each question carries 2 marks.
  • Every correct answer is awarded 2 marks.
  • There is no negative marking for incorrect answers.
  • No marks are awarded for unanswered, unattempted, or review-marked questions.

Using this marking pattern, candidates can calculate an approximate score before the final answer key and results are announced.

Steps to Download the UGC NET June 2026 Answer Key

Once the provisional answer key is released, candidates can access it through the official website by following these steps:

  1. Visit the official UGC NET website.
  2. Open the link for the UGC NET June 2026 provisional answer key.
  3. Log in using the required credentials, if prompted.
  4. Download the provisional answer key, recorded response sheet, and question paper.

  • Junior Research Fellowship (JRF)
  • Appointment as Assistant Professor
  • Admission to PhD programmes in universities and colleges across India

The final answer key issued after reviewing all valid objections will form the basis for preparing the UGC NET June 2026 results.
