University of Kashmir Admission Notification 2025: Registration Open for 5th & 6th Semester (Batch 2023) under NEP 2020

The University of Kashmir has issued an important admission notification for students of Batch 2023 under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 framework. The notification grants provisional admission to the 5th and 6th semesters of the Four-Year Undergraduate Programme (FYUGP).

Key Dates

• Registration Start Date: 23rd August 2025
• Registration Last Date: 3rd September 2025
• Commencement of Classwork: As per the academic calendar of the Higher Education Department

Eligibility Criteria

1. Students who meet the statutory requirement of attendance in the preceding semester are eligible to register for the 5th semester.
2. Candidates from previous batches (2015–2021), who have completed 1st to 4th semester or 2nd-year exams (annual scheme) but have not yet sought admission for the 5th semester/3rd year, are also eligible. They must submit the online form via the University website or visit their respective college Information Cell with original documents in case of difficulties.
3. Students from CBCS/Semester/Annual schemes joining under FYUGP (NEP 2020) must clear deficiency courses from the 4th semester to qualify for single or dual majors as per university rules.

Registration & Admission Guidelines

• Students must complete registration formalities and pay the required fee within the given timeframe.
• Registration is to be done through the Information Cell of the respective colleges.
• Candidates must confirm their subjects and pay fees by checking the MyFormStatus page on the University website using their Registration Number.
• In case of subject mismatch, students can request corrections through their College Information Cell before fee submission.
• Once the fee is submitted, no subject change will be allowed.
• Colleges will assign subjects online based on the student’s Enrollment Sheet/Admission Form.

Fee Exemption

• Physically challenged and orphan students are exempted from paying the examination fee. However, they are required to pay the registration and allied fees applicable to other students.

Important Instructions for Colleges

• Principals of all affiliated colleges must forward registration returns and fee reports to the University within 10 days after the closure of admissions.
• Unique form numbers will be used to verify and process admissions via the University online portal.
