University of Kashmir Invites Applications for PG Programmes (Distance Mode) – Session 2025
The University of Kashmir has officially released Admission Notification No. 17 (C) of 2025, inviting fresh online applications for various Postgraduate (PG) programmes through Distance Mode under its Centre for Distance and Online Education (formerly Directorate of Distance Education). This admission drive is being conducted in view of the availability of seats for the academic session 2025.
Available PG Programmes
Candidates can apply for admission to the following distance mode postgraduate courses:
- M.Com
- M.A. Economics
- M.A. Education
- M.A. English
- M.A./M.Sc. Mathematics
- M.A. Urdu
- M.A. Kashmiri
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must have passed their Bachelor’s degree from a recognized University/Institution under the Annual/Semester scheme, CBCS Scheme, or NEP-2020.
- Candidates must have earned at least 12 credits in Core or Generic Elective Courses at the undergraduate level in the subject they are applying for.
- For courses with open eligibility (e.g., M.A. Islamic Studies), graduates from any discipline can apply.
- Only candidates whose mobile number is linked with Aadhaar will be considered for admission.
Dual Degree Option
As per UGC guidelines, the University of Kashmir allows students to pursue two degrees simultaneously – one in regular mode and another in distance mode.
Important Dates
- Online submission of application forms & fee payment: September 4, 2025 – September 7, 2025
- The University has made it clear that no extension of dates will be granted.
Application Process
Candidates must apply online by following these steps:
- Visit the official University websites: www.kashmiruniversity.net or www.kashmiruniversity.ac.in.
- Click on the “Admissions” tab and open the PG Programmes (Distance Mode) Application Form.
- Enter your Graduation Registration Number and proceed.
- Fill in the required details, upload a recent passport-size photo, and submit the form.
- Pay the non-refundable application fee of ₹550 through online mode only.
- Ensure the application status reflects “Fee Received” within 2 days of payment, otherwise the form will be treated as incomplete.
⚠️ Note: Candidates are not required to submit hard copies of the application form or fee receipt. However, they must keep a printout for future reference.
Verification & Disclaimer
- The University will not verify documents at the time of online form submission. It is the candidate’s sole responsibility to ensure eligibility.
- Documents will be verified only during the final admission formalities. Any misrepresentation of information can lead to rejection at any stage.

- Applicants must check their Fee Reconciliation Status within 3 days of submission.
