UPSC Civil Services Mains 2025 Timetable Released: Exams from August 22 to 31, Check Schedule, Pattern, and Vacancies

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has officially released the Civil Services Mains 2025 exam timetable. According to the schedule, the examination will commence on August 22 (Friday) with the Essay Paper and conclude on August 31 (Sunday) with the Optional Subject Paper 2.

The exams will be held in two sessions daily:

  • Session 1: 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM
  • Session 2: 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM

🧑‍💼 UPSC CSE 2025 Vacancies Overview

This year, UPSC is recruiting for a total of 979 vacancies, including:

  • 🔹 38 reserved for Benchmark Disability candidates
    • 12 for blindness/low vision
    • 7 for deaf or hard of hearing
    • 10 for locomotor disabilities
    • 9 for multiple disabilities including deaf-blindness

📝 Earlier Stage: UPSC CSE Prelims 2025

The Preliminary Exam was held on May 25, 2025, consisting of:

  • Two objective-type papers (General Studies and CSAT)
  • Each paper: 200 marks, 2 hours duration

The Prelims results were declared in June 2025, and successful candidates have qualified for the Mains examination.


🔍 Next Step: Personality Test / Interview

Candidates who clear the Mains written exams will be called for the Personality Test (Interview). The final selection will be based on the combined scores of the Mains and Interview.
