SRINAGAR, August 1: The Meteorological Centre Srinagar has issued an extended weather forecast for Jammu and Kashmir, covering the period from August 1st to August 9th, 2025. The department predicts generally hot and humid weather conditions across the region, accompanied by occasional rain and thunderstorms, particularly in the Jammu Division.

🌤️ Detailed Forecast (01–09 August 2025):

📅 1st to 3rd August:

  • Expect hot and humid conditions across most parts of Jammu and Kashmir.
  • Brief spells of rain/thundershowers may occur at a few isolated locations.
  • Jammu Division could witness moderate showers in some areas.

📅 4th to 6th August:

  • Days will remain hot and humid across the region.
  • Light to moderate rain/thundershowers are likely at many places in both divisions.
  • There is a high possibility of intense/heavy rainfall in parts of Jammu Division, especially during late night and early morning hours.

📅 7th to 9th August:

  • The trend of hot and humid weather is expected to continue.
  • Brief showers are possible in some areas during this period.

⚠️ Advisory Issued by MET Centre Srinagar:

  • Heavy/Intense Rain Alert (4–6 August):
    • There is a possibility of intense/heavy rainfall in parts of Jammu Division, which could lead to localized flash floods.
  • Disaster Risk:
    • Vulnerable areas may face flash floods, landslides, mudslides, and incidents of shooting stones, particularly along hilly and mountainous routes.
  • For Farmers:
    • Farmers are advised to resume and complete farm operations by 3rd August, ahead of the potential wet spell beginning 4th August.

The MET department urges residents, travelers, and local authorities to stay alert, especially in vulnerable areas of Jammu Division. Travelers are advised to monitor weather updates regularly and plan journeys accordingly to avoid disruptions due to rain-related incidents.
