Weather Update for Jammu & Kashmir – July 20, 2025: Rain Forecast, Advisory Issued by MET Centre Srinagar
Srinagar, July 20: The Meteorological Centre Srinagar has issued a detailed weather forecast and advisory for Jammu & Kashmir, covering the period from July 20 to July 28, 2025. Citizens, especially those in vulnerable areas, have been advised to remain cautious due to the possibility of intense rainfall, flash floods, and landslides.
Forecast Details
🔹 July 20:
The region is expected to experience hot and humid conditions with light to moderate rain/thundershowers at scattered to fairly widespread locations. There is also a possibility of heavy rainfall in some areas of the Jammu Division, especially during late night or early morning hours.
🔹 July 21–24:
Weather will remain generally cloudy with intermittent spells of light to moderate rain/thundershowers across many parts of J&K. Intense showers and heavy rain are expected at isolated locations, increasing the risk of water-related hazards.
🔹 July 25–28:
Conditions will once again turn hot and humid, with the possibility of brief showers at scattered places.
⚠ Advisory from MET Centre Srinagar
The Meteorological Department has issued several warnings and guidelines for public safety during July 21–24:
- ⚠️ Intense showers with gusty winds may occur at a few places, with heavy rain at isolated to scattered locations.
- ⚠️ There is a high possibility of flash floods in vulnerable areas, as well as landslides, mudslides, and shooting stones in hilly terrains.
- ⚠️ Rise in water levels of rivers, streams, and local nallas is expected, along with waterlogging in low-lying areas.
- ⚠️ Farmers are advised to suspend agricultural operations during this period to prevent any damage or safety hazards.
