Weather Update J&K: Heavy Rainfall Alerts for Jammu Division till 15 August 2025
The Meteorological Centre Srinagar has issued a weather update and advisory for Jammu & Kashmir for the period from 12 to 19 August 2025. Several districts of Jammu Division have already recorded extremely heavy rainfall in the past 24 hours, and more intense weather conditions are expected in the coming days.

- Katra: 204 mm
- Reasi: 284 mm
- Udhampur: 166 mm
- Kathua: 199 mm
- Samba: 102 mm
- Jammu: 96 mm
Weather Forecast
12–15 August 2025:
- Generally cloudy skies with light to moderate rain/thundershowers at many places.
- Possibility of heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated to scattered places in Jammu Division, especially in Reasi, Udhampur, Jammu, Samba, Kathua, Doda, and Rajouri, mainly during night and early morning hours.
- Few areas in Kashmir Division may also receive moderate showers, brief intense showers, and gusty winds.
16–17 August 2025:
- Generally hot and humid weather.
- Possibility of brief showers at a few places.
18–19 August 2025:
- Fresh spell of light to moderate rainfall expected at many places.
- Heavy rainfall possible at a few places in Jammu Division.
Advisory Issued by MET Centre Srinagar
- Heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely at a few places in Jammu Division during 12–15 August.
- Thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds expected at a few places.
- There is a risk of flash floods in vulnerable areas, along with landslides, mudslides, and shooting stones.
- People are advised to stay away from rivers, streams, and other water bodies.
Residents of the affected areas are urged to remain alert and follow the advisories issued by the authorities to ensure safety during this period of adverse weather conditions.
