The Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board has officially released the Provisional Answer Key for the OMR-based written examination conducted for the post of Inspector in the Forest, Ecology and Environment Department. The examination was held on 15 March 2026 across multiple centers in Jammu and Kashmir.
Candidates who appeared in the examination can now check the provisional answer key and submit objections, if any, within the specified time period. The answer key has been released to ensure transparency in the recruitment process and to allow candidates to verify their responses before the final answer key is published.
JKSSB Inspector (Forest) Exam 2026 Overview
The written examination was conducted as part of the recruitment process advertised through Advertisement Notification No. 04 of 2022. The vacancies fall under Item No. 84 and 85, specifically for the post of Inspector in the Forest, Ecology and Environment Department of Jammu & Kashmir.
The exam was conducted in OMR format, where candidates marked answers on optical mark recognition sheets. Now that the provisional answer key has been released, candidates can cross-check their answers with the officially provided solutions.
Provisional Answer Key Released
According to the official notice issued by the Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board, the provisional answer key for Series A, B, C, and D question papers has been made available in Annexure “A” of the notification.
This answer key allows candidates to estimate their expected scores in the examination before the final results are declared. It also gives candidates an opportunity to raise objections in case they find any discrepancy in the answers provided by the board.
Objection Process for Answer Key
Candidates who believe that any answer in the provisional key is incorrect can submit their objections to the board.
To submit an objection, candidates must:
- Fill the prescribed objection/representation form (Annexure “B”).
- Attach documentary proof or evidence supporting their claim.
- Submit hard copies only of the objection documents.
- Pay a fee of ₹200 per question through a demand draft.
The demand draft should be drawn in favor of the Accounts Officer, JKSSB.
If the objection submitted by a candidate is found to be genuine and correct, the fee will be refunded. However, if the objection is found invalid, the fee will not be returned.
Where to Submit Objections
The Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board has clearly stated that objections must be submitted offline only.
Candidates can submit their objections at the following offices:
- JKSSB Office, Muthi, Akhnoor Road, Jammu
- JKSSB Office, Zamzam Building, Rambagh, Srinagar
Online submissions or objections through any other mode will not be accepted by the board.
Last Date to Submit Objections
Candidates must submit their objections within three working days starting from 16 March 2026.
The submission timing is:
11:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Candidates are advised to submit objections within the stipulated time frame because the board will not entertain any objections after the deadline.
What Happens After Objections?
Once the objection window closes, the board will review all representations received from candidates.
If any objection is found valid, the answer key will be revised accordingly. The revised answer key will be applicable to all candidates who appeared in the exam.
However, the board has clarified that individual candidates will not be informed separately about whether their objection has been accepted or rejected.
After completing the review process, the final answer key will be released and the results will be prepared based on the corrected answers.
Importance of the Provisional Answer Key
The release of a provisional answer key plays an important role in ensuring transparency in competitive examinations.
It allows candidates to:
- Evaluate their performance in the exam
- Estimate their probable score
- Identify potential errors in the official key
- Submit objections supported by valid academic references
This process helps the recruitment board maintain fairness and credibility in the selection process.
